Short foretaste of "The Quiet" by Jefta van Dinther:
What would we remember and what would we forget if we got the chance to live our lives again? THE QUIET, the latest creation by Swedish choreographer Jefta van Dinther, brings five women together on stage. In a process of remembering and forgetting, a meandering choreography emerges that is nowhere on its path and yet constantly on its way. Loss and absence drive the performing bodies forward, in an fusion of past, present and future. A fragile and touching narrative about age and youth, emerging voices, gestures and stories that makes us feel what makes us human.
Together with his artist colleagues of many years, lighting designer Minna Tiikkainen, sound designer David Kiers and costume and stage designer Cristina Nyffeler, Jefta van Dinther continues the twists, entanglements and relationships of space, sound, light and body – typical of his choreographies. His performances deal with concepts such as illusion, the visible and the invisible, synaesthesia, darkness, work, the uncanny, affect, voice and image. With THE QUIET, Jefta van Dinther continues his exploration of questions of identity and memory by relating us humans to other forms of life.
We are very much looking forward to the theater trip with you. If you have any questions, our Branch Office is always available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
